Education & Workshops

2014 IckyFest @ Brooklyn Children's Museum

One of Midtown Carnivores' primary goals is that of community outreach and education. We've been delighted provide plants and/or workshops to the Brooklyn Children's Museum , the Horticultural Society of New York and several member families from the New York City Home Educator's Alliance. We continue to look for new partnerships in providing educational and outreach opportunities with both public and private organizations.

The first part of our standard workshop is observational. Participants to our workshops will be able to see and learn about a variety of carnivorous plants, including species from following carnivorous plant families:

Dionaea
Venus Flytrap

The second part of the workshop is typically hands-on. Participants will be given a pot, moistened media and carnivorous plant seeds or gemmae (seasonally available) to pot up their own carnivorous plant right at the workshop.

Please also note that we are happy to tailor our workshops to emphasize the topics that you request.
